The Cow is a contemporary remake of “La Vache et Le Prisonnier” (The Prisoner and The Cow), a 1959 French film directed by Henri Verneuil.
The Cow is a family movie that manages to present a “moving tale about one man’s unceasing initiative and stoical determination to regain his freedom in the face of overwhelming odds”. It is “a powerful lesson in the value of perseverance and loyalty, a film which evokes the sentiment of war time mood, without recourse to spectacle or sentimentality.”
The prisoner will be played by an American GI in this universal comedy shot in English.
Based on a true story, The Cow managed to magically combine three elements: humor, drama and soulful emotion.
Written by Bill Prady (The big bang theory), The Cow will be directed by Marc Forster (Finding neverland, Quantum of Solace, World War Z).
In association with Lamb Pictures and Simpleton Pictures.
